Local stores celebrate National Pretzel Day

Today is once again the one day of the year devoted to twisted doughy treats, National Pretzel Day.

In honor of the holiday, anyone looking to add a twist to their Friday can do so with a free pretzel from the Philly Pretzel Factory.

With more than 120 stores across the nation participating in the event, even the Saint Clair store at 400 Terry Rich Blvd. in Coal Creek Center will be celebrating the unofficial holiday.

Founded in 1983, National Pretzel Day was created when Rep. Robert S. Walker declared his favorite food was deserving of a holiday.

In April 2003, Gov. Ed Rendell declared the unofficial national holiday.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY — Sometimes you reach a crossroad in life. Other times you create that crossroad.

For Brian Bell, a new wife and the couple’s desire to spend more time together led him to trade in a 15-year career in automobile sales for ownership of a Philly Pretzel Factory shop in Piscataway.

AJ Borowsky often found himself looking for a new interests. That search lead Borowsky and his wife, Julie Vila, to open a Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa at The Shoppes at North Brunswick shopping center.

Philly Pretzel Factory Celebrates 25,000 Facebook Fans

Last week Philly Pretzel Factory's Facebook site reached a historic milestone by surpassing 25,000 fans. The company uses the site to conduct contests, photo galleries and polls to interact with fans all over the world. Loyal pretzel lovers came out in force last week to give the company the push it needed by inviting their friends to the page.

Philly Pretzel Factory Featured in Long Valley Patch

Philly Soft Pretzel Factory's newest location in Hackettstown, New Jersey was featured in the Long Valley Patch in an article titled, "Soft Pretzel Factory Twists into Hackettstown," on February 24,2013. 

Carl Boos says he knew his job was “going away,” and despite the economic conditions, was ready to pursue his dream of business ownership.
