The Philadelphia Pretzel Factory is selling ribbon-shaped pretzels during October as part of its Twisting for a Cure campaign.

A ribbon-shaped pretzel sells for $1. Of that, 50 percent of the sales go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure in the effort to fight breast cancer.

In addition to the ribbon-shaped pretzels, stores are selling paper ribbons for a dollar with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the foundation.

Philly Pretzel Factory observes Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is an important month for Philly Pretzel Factory. Not only is it National Pretzel Month, but it is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Local owners Jim and Julie Powers are committed to Twisting for a Cure.

During the entire month, Philly Pretzel Factory will sell pretzels shaped as ribbons to raise awareness about the importance of breast cancer awareness. Fifty percent of the proceeds from the pretzel ribbons will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help fund breast cancer research.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month gains recognition and local Philly Pretzel Factory stores with its signature ribbon-shaped pretzel. 
 
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month celebrates its 25th year anniversary of awareness, education and empowerment. In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Philly Pretzel Factory has teamed up with the Philadelphia Affiliate for Susan G. Komen for the Cure in its “Twisting 4 A Cure” campaign. Fifty percent of the business’ October proceeds from the sale of its $1 ribbon-shaped pretzels will be donated.

The Philly Pretzel Factory on Route 35 gives its fans another reason to load up on its soft treats this October other than tailgates, fundraisers or after school snacks.

Throughout the month, the Eatontown shop, located at 86 Route 35 next to Rita's Italian Ices, will donate 50 percent of the proceeds from ribbon-shaped hot pretzels to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to promote breast cancer awareness.

Health officials partnered with Cecil County government last week to proclaim October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and many local businesses have joined the campaign to raise awareness of the importance of checkups and to raise funds to find a cure. 

Banners are up and pink lights adorn several buildings as a reminder to everyone to give what they can to help fund research. Elkton's Philly Pretzel Factory owners Mike Scrowneck, John Cooley and Mike Derrickson are one of the local businesses helping raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation this year. 

For the entire month of October, they're making ribbon-shaped pretzels for sale with 50 percent of the proceeds designated to benefit the foundation. Each customer who buys a ribbon-shaped pretzel will be asked to sign a pink paper ribbon the store will display on a "Wall of Fame."

You may not know it, but along with it being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, October is also National Pretzel Month.  So it makes a lot of sense the the Philly Soft Pretzel Factory located in Langhorne would do their part to help the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

During the month of October, each of its locations are participating in a fund drive for Susan G. Komen for a Cure foundation. The stores are selling $1 pretzels in the shape of breast cancer awareness ribbons, half of the proceeds from which will go towards research and screenings for the disease.
